David and Elizabeth celebrated their marriage in three wedding ceremonies. The first was in an intimate ceremony for family in the Van Komen backyard. The second was for themselves and God in the Columbus, Ohio, temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. According to their beliefs, their marriage was sealed for time and eternity. The third wedding was for their friends and communities, to mark and celebrate such a momentous event.
